This video walks through how easy it is to create a new contact in Shape and push that record into your loan origination system. Shape’s mortgage platform connects with several major LOS systems, which means you can start a file in Shape and let the integration handle the rest.

Adding a New Lead in Shape

To get started, you simply press the plus button and choose to add a lead. As you work this record, Shape will automatically move it through the pipeline, from Lead to Application to Loan. If your workflow is simpler, you can streamline the pipeline down to just leads and loans, or even just leads.
When you first create the record, you’ll see a few required fields. These can be adjusted to fit your needs.

  • You can remove fields if you want a lighter intake
  • You can add fields if you prefer a more complete profile up front
  • And the Shape team can customize the screen to match your workflow

Once you fill out the required fields, the record saves automatically.

Entering Loan and Property Details

After the basics are saved, most lenders will enter more detailed information. Shape makes this easy with:

Helpful tools for data entry

  • Predictive Google address fields for quick, accurate property entry
  • Current lien information for refinance scenarios
  • Real estate details for purchase transactions
  • A full 1008/1003 intake form that pulls from earlier fields you’ve already completed

This keeps your data organized and reduces double entry when you move into the LOS.

Syncing a File to Your LOS

Once you’re ready for the LOS to take over:

  • 1. Click the LOS button
  • 2. Select Sync to my LOS
  • 3. Wait for the success message in the upper right corner

Shape connects directly to your LOS and creates the loan file for you.

What Syncs Between Shape and Your LOS

After the file is created, your LOS will continue to sync information back into Shape on a regular schedule, including:

  • Borrower and loan details
  • Assigned users
  • Milestones and status updates

This keeps your CRM and LOS aligned without needing to manually update both systems.

Why This Matters

Starting a file in Shape and letting the integration handle the handoff saves time, reduces errors, and makes your workflow smoother. You can begin the conversation in Shape, qualify the borrower, gather loan details, and kick off the LOS file in just a couple of clicks.
If you have questions about setting up or customizing your LOS sync, the Shape team is always here to help.
