Integrating with Sales Boomerang (TrustEngine)

Sales Boomerang, now known as TrustEngine, is a mortgage industry-focused customer intelligence and retention platform. It provides lenders with real-time insights into their borrowers' behaviors and financial situations, helping them identify opportunities to re-engage with past customers or potential leads.

TrustEngine Overview:

  1. Borrower Intelligence: Trust Engine monitors borrowers' financial activities, such as credit score changes, home equity accumulation, and mortgage inquiries. This allows lenders to identify when a borrower might be ready for refinancing, home equity loans, or other financial products.

  1. Automated Alerts: TrustEngine sends automated alerts to lenders when there are significant changes in a borrower's financial profile, enabling timely and relevant outreach.

  1. Retention and Recapture: By providing insights into when a borrower might be looking to make another financial decision (like refinancing or purchasing a new home), TrustEngine helps lenders retain their customers and recapture lost opportunities.

Best Practices Workflow for Integrating with Sales Boomerang (TrustEngine)

Integrating with Sales Boomerang (TrustEngine) is a streamlined process. Follow these best practices to ensure optimal functionality:

  1. Lead Data Integration: Lead providers will post lead data directly into Shape. Shape can then initiate an outbound webhook either immediately or at a specific status update, sending the required information to Sales Boomerang to start monitoring for alerts.

  1. Webhook Configuration: When sending the webhook to Sales Boomerang, include the lead ID. This allows Sales Boomerang to update the corresponding record when new alerts are generated.

  1. Sales Boomerang Status Tracking: Set up a "Sales Boomerang Status" or a similarly named field within Shape. Ensure that the names of the alerts match exactly as they will be passed through the API. This alignment will allow you to:

Steps to Get Started:

  1. Ensure API Access: First, confirm that you have access to Shape’s Open API. You can do this on the API Integrations page. You’ll need to provide your API Key and the “Update Record Information” endpoint, which can be found here, to your TrustEngine representative.

  1. Create a Status List: Navigate to the "Manage Status" settings page and create a new status list named “Sales Boomerang” or “TrustEngine” (or any other name indicating that you’re receiving monitoring alerts). Once the list is added, include the specific alert names to which you’re subscribed. These names must exactly match what will be passed through the API. If there’s a mismatch in the status mapping field from Sales Boomerang, the API call will fail.

  1. Set Up the Webhook URL: Configure the webhook URL to post a new lead to Sales Boomerang using the “Add Lead” API endpoint. Ensure that the Shape lead ID is included in the payload.

  1. Configure Triggers or Drip Campaigns: Set up either a trigger or a drip campaign for when you want the lead sent to Sales Boomerang. We recommend setting this up within a drip campaign to refine your audience as needed. It’s also advisable to set this up on the “New” lead status to send leads to Sales Boomerang immediately for monitoring.

  1. Update Record Information: On Sales Boomerang, configure the webhook to use the “Update Record Information” API endpoint, which you can find here

  1. Set Up Automation for Follow-Up: Feel free to establish any prioritization rules or drip campaigns to take action and automate follow-ups when a new alert is linked to a borrower.
