Email Validation verifies if an email address is deliverable and valid. Shape’s email validation involves a process that catches typos, whether they are honest mistakes or purposeful misdirects. It also confirms if a particular email address exists with a reliable domain such as Gmail or Yahoo.
Start by navigating to “Settings” in the top gradient bar. Next click the dropdown labeled “Account Management” to find the “Billing and Transactions” settings page.

Under this dropdown, you will find the toggle to turn on email validation. Once on, there is a dropdown next to the toggle to select either automatic validation or manual.
Automatic email validation will automatically validate an email when the lead enters the system (post URL, API, import, etc.) Manual validation will allow your users to click an icon next to the email address, which will validate the email on demand.
When an email is validated, a green check mark will appear at the end of the email address in list and lead details views. Email validation will occur when addresses are added to the system, as well as when an email address is changed. A green check mark indicates a valid email address.
When an email is not valid, a red X icon will appear at the end of the email address in list and lead details views. Email validation will occur when addresses are added to the system, as well as when they are changed. A red X indicates that the email address has returned as invalid.
If you choose to manually validate email addresses, then you will see a grey icon at the end of the email address, indicating that this email address has yet to be validated. Click the question mark icon next to the email and it will validate the email once clicked and will show the green check mark or red X icon with the response.
A “?” will appear when you have chosen to manually check these yourself. Click the question mark and it will validate it for you.
While there is not a limit, you are gifted 3,500 email validations per month and $0.02/email after 3,500.
Yes! Once toggled ON, your users will be able to validate emails if set to manual validation as well as seeing the valid or non-valid email icon when set to automatic.
