Before configuring your user profile phone settings, please be sure that you’ve successfully enabled your phone integration, purchased a phone number, verified caller ID numbers, and added usage credits. If you haven’t done this yet, please visit the “Manage Call Settings” setting page and follow this guide.
Before using local presence in Shape, please be sure that you’ve configured your default settings rules in the “Local Presence” settings page.
After you’ve enabled your phone integration and gone through the “Manage Call Settings” page, visit your user profile page and configure your settings. Each user can change his or her own call settings. Admins (and Managers if that role permission in your system allows to manage users) can also do this on behalf of users by using the “Manage Users” settings page and opening each user account.
By default, Shape will use your caller ID number selected in your profile settings page. Choose the verified or Shape number that you’d like your call recipients to see. However, if you have local presence turned on, the system will automatically match the closest number to your record’s phone.
You have the option to turn Local Presence On and Off throughout the day. For example, if you’re calling a list of clients that know your direct line, you may want to keep your local presence off to show your caller ID number. If local presence is turned OFF, then your Caller ID selected in your profile settings will always show when calling out to your records. After, you may want to call a series of new records with your local presence turned on to increase the chances of your leads answering from a local number.
Please note that it’s important to have all users or no users using the local presence settings with inbound call routing rules. Inconsistent user settings will lead to inconsistent inbound calling rules.
